December 2009
There's a song by Michael Buble that strikes a chord in me amid the noise and haste of the holiday rush. It goes "Here's my lifelong wish (my grown up Christmas list) not for myself but for a world in need! No more lives torn apart, that wars would never start and TIME would HEAL our heart; Every man would have a Friend, that RIGHT would always win and LOVE would never end; this is my Grown up Christmas list!"
Christmas is a perfect time to renew ties among friends and family.Formy Rotarian Family, allow me to assure each and every Club member of District 3850 that we are all in this great helping adventure together. Through the joys and pains, gains and losses, being there for each other keeps us strong. Our spouses, children, parents, spouses of departed Rotarians, Youth exchange students and families, Interactors/Rotaractors/RYLArians, the GSE team members and ambassadorial scholars, the Foundation Alumni... we belong with one another as one big Family of Rotary. And the task is simple... simply inviting them to join us in our Rotary projects, fundraisers, club and district activities, change-overs, DISCON and assemblies.
On a more personal note, keeping in touch with families of our Youth exchange, and updating spouses and alumni with our Club newsletterkeeps them inthe loop of Rotary Family news.
May this Season of Hope bring the Family of Rotary closer and usher in a fresh resolve to serve others above self !
Malipayon nga Paskwa!/Christmas Cheers to all!
