Please read below the letter of PDG Sonny Ventura-Managing Editor of the Philippine Rotary Magazine to DG Governor Diotay regarding a very serious matter which needs your outmost attention and actions.
Dear Governor Diotay,
Greetings!
Again, we would like to take this opportunity to furnish you the attached updated clubs' subscription status ending May 6, 2010 covering your D-3850. Included in the report are the lists of clubs with overdue accounts and those that are under-subscribed (total subscriptions is less than total membership as declared in the SAR). Please let us know of any discrepancy on the report. Sample copies of the club subscription agreement and lifetime subscription forms are attached. You may duplicate copies for their use if needed.
We count on your assistance to remind the clubs of their obligations. Compliance on this matter will help succeeding Rotary leaders. As proven, personal touch to the club presidents is the most effective way to convince them to comply. Let us transfer to all successors a clean financial condition so when their year of service begins they will start with no inherited problems as far as the magazine subscription is concerned. We only have more than one precious month before this Rotary year ends. Make everyday count.
For your information, the recent Council on Legislation which was convened last April 26 – 30, retained the mandatory magazine subscription requirement by a big majority vote. We are referring to Resolution No.188, which proposed to remove the magazine subscription requirement. It lost by votes of 398 – NO as against 112 – YES. This is just to reiterate that what we are doing is worth our voluntary effort to promote the Philippine Rotary magazine.
We appreciate very much your continuous cooperation and support.
Carry on.
Warmest regards,
PDG Sonny Ventura
Managing Editor
