January 2023 | Governor's Message

Dear Fellow Rotarians,

Happy New Year. May 2023 be blessed and bountiful for all of us.

As we start the year we also dedicate January, as the month for Vocational Service. Aristotle aptly wrote that, “where your talents and the needs of the world cross; there lies your vocation.”

In Rotary we come from various professions and business fields. It is with utmost importance that we uphold trustworthiness in our dealings where we are competent with what we do and we have integrity. This way, we are able to bless our communities with what we do.

This year the District 3850 launched the District Exemplary Rotarian Awards to promote the importance of living both professional and personal within the bounds of the Rotary values. At all times we should promote service, fellowship, diversity, integrity and leadership. All of these core values are reflected in the Object of Rotary and The Four-Way Test, which we use in our daily lives. They inspire us to foster and support the ideal of service to help improve communities.

Therefore, I encourage Rotarians to responsibly represent their classifications in their clubs, be worthy ambassadors of Rotary in their workplaces and to help others find the means to fulfill their own vocations.
